Hockey Tournament

25th Mar 2019

Today, Mullaglass took part in the ‘McCloy & Pearson’ hockey tournament.
Ten schools took part in the event, from all around the area.
Both the boys and girls from Mullaglass can be incredibly proud of the effort they put in and their behaviour and sportsmanship, throughout the competition.
Their performances were all the more impressive as they have only been learning about hockey over the last 4 weeks! In their matches, the boys won two but lost five. To their credit, all the games were very close. The girls managed a draw and three losses, meeting the eventual winner in the final match.

Special thanks must be given to Mr McWilliams and Mrs McCullough for kindly volunteering to coach the children over the last few weeks. The children would not have been able to perform to the standard they set without your expertise and encouragement.
Thanks to Mrs Cartmill for helping with transport. Thanks to Mr Bradshaw and Mr McKenzie for helping to supervise and coach the teams.
A fantastic event, which has hopefully sparked an interest in the sport to continue further.
