Our new topic is People Who Help Us. This week we have been learning about opticians. Today we had a visit from Will and Chris from Specsavers in Newry. They brought some equipment to show us what happens when we get our eyes checked. They showed us contact lenses and also let us try on lots of pairs of glasses. They talked to us about how to keep our eyes healthy and told us that children our age should go to the optician at least once a year.
We set up our own opticians roleplay area and now we can pretend to be opticians and test each other’s eyes too! We have been using great vocabulary and have enjoyed taking on different roles.
