In our R.E. lessons this term we have been looking at the theme of light. As part of our learning we learnt about Diwali, the Festival of Lights. We learnt about the history of Diwali and how it is celebrated. During our art lessons we made our own clay diyas, which are the lamps which signify light triumphing over dark. We moulded our clay into the shape of diyas and when they were dry we painted, decorated and varnished them before displaying them proudly on our windowsills.
