Fruit Harvest Event
Last year our previous P6/7 class took part in an Eco Schools planting project in partnership with Radius Housing; the pupils planted various fruit bushes along the new walkway into the school, as well as fruit trees. Today the current P6/7 class had the exciting opportunity to be involved in a harvesting workshop. We were joined by a class from St. Ronan‘s and took part in a variety of activities. We learnt how to take cuttings, held worms and bedded our fruit trees. We also got to see how to make apple juice and taste it and were able to taste a wide variety of fruits and make fruit sundaes. Thanks to Eco Schools for leading this and providing all the wonderful fruit to try. Although our own plants have only produced a handful of raspberries, we still learnt a lot and look forward to many fruit harvests to come.
