Have a look at our indoor play for our Under Construction topic. One of the best things was when we worked together to build a bus. We had lots of boxes that mums and dads very kindly brought in and we decided as a group what we wanted to build. We developed fine motor skills and pincer grips by tearing off the masking tape to stick the boxes together. However we realised that the tape wasn’t very strong, so we used real nuts and bolts to secure the carriages. That required great team work and hand-eye co-ordination. We made a pictogram to vote for what colour to paint it and the ‘multicoloured’ option got the most votes. We then took the bus to our mechanics garage and have been adding number plates, wipers, wheels and other bits and pieces. This was a great group project and we developed so many skills!
