We were taking part in the whole school eco art competition. We used natural materials that we found outside, to make ‘danmalas’ inspired by the artist Kathy Klein. We worked with a partner to create a centre piece, and then we designed beautiful patterns around it. We were so impressed with the teamwork and the creativity of all the boys and girls. As well as creating amazing pieces of artwork, in their designs the children explored and developed aspects of number, pattern, symmetry, shape and positional language.
