P4/5 - Weekly News (22/10/21)
The P4/5s have been recapping their acrostic poem skills this week and created a range of poems about Halloween. We worked hard to add adjectives and rhyming words.
During numeracy we have been focusing on measuring in grams and kilograms both in written and practical form. The children had to read and follow a recipe to prep, bake and decorate fairy cakes including measuring out the ingredients in grams. Everyone had a job within their group and showed excellent teamwork.
For our topic work we learnt about mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The children had to sort, cut and stick a selection of animals from the rainforest into the correct animal group.
We used clay during art to make Halloween decorations and finished them with paint.
It has been a busy week and half-term for everyone. I am so pleased with how well the children have settled and the progress they have made.
Enjoy a well earned break and I will see everyone on Monday 1st November.
Miss Doyle.
