P4/5 - Weekly News (24/9/21)
For literacy we wrote a weekend recount focusing on correct punctuation and detail. We also used our editing skills to edit a piece of writing, identifying spelling errors and missing punctuation marks as well as completing written comprehension.
During numeracy we revised our 2D shape knowledge with the P4s recalling hexagon, heptagon and octagon facts. The P5s progressed to looking at different types of triangles and angles which was very tricky but they all worked brilliantly. We finished the week off with numeracy stations, lots of great teamwork and fun was had.
PDMU focused on our class novel ‘Mr Stink’ in particular the character Chloe. We discussed how kind Chloe is to Mr Stink and chatted about times when we have been kind to others and when others have been kind to us. Lots of children love writing comments about each other and how they have been kind as part of our weekly kindness bucket.
We learnt about the climate in a rainforest and compared it to our climate as part of our topic work.
During PE we are developing our fitness on a Tuesday and our game skills and tactics on a Thursday.
Another great week, well done P4/5.
