P4/5 - Weekly News (28.1.22)
Our literacy focus this week has been on writing a set of instructions to pack a suitcase for a trip to Egypt. We worked hard on our layout, focused on including bossy verbs and added small pictures to each instruction to make it user friendly. As part of our class novel 'There's a Pharoah in our bath', we used dictionaries to find the meaning of different words linked to the book.
Our numeracy work looked at multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100 with P5s progressing to dividing whole numbers and decimals. Our 3D shape knowledge was revised with practical activities looking at shapes that can roll and cannot roll.
The children worked in pairs to research different ancient Egyptian artefacts including the Giza Pyramids, Scarab Beetles and Egyptian art.
Another busy week in P4/5, well done everyone!
Have a lovely weekend.
