P4/5 ~ Weekly News (11.11.22)
This week in P4/5 we have been writing acrostic poems about Remembrance Day focusing on adding detail and reflecting on what Remembrance Day is.
Our numeracy focused on multiplication. The P4s completed 2 and 3 digit multiplication by a single digit and the P5s focused on long multiplication of a 2 and 3 digit by a 2 digit number. This is a difficult concept to recall with many steps. I've been very impressed with everyone's effort, well done!
We learnt about The Prodigal Son and the importance of appreciating those around us and the things we have.
The children planned and drew boats which they will make next week to determine whether they will float or sink as part of our topic work linked to our class novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
For ICT we watched different advertisements about chocolate and made notes in our groups to help generate ideas to add to our own advertisements which we plan to create over the coming weeks.
During Music with Mr McClean the boys and girls learnt how to assemble their instruments.
Another great week in P4/5, well done! Have a lovely weekend.
