P4/5 ~ Weekly News (15.11.24)
We have been learning lots this week about letter writing and how we can write persuasively to persuade the reader to agree with our opinions. We planned and wrote a letter to a man who had visited the rainforest and started to chop down all the trees. We worked hard to give our opinions about the impact of his actions on the environment and to the animals. Our letter was in response to the story of ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ which linked to our topic, the rainforest.
Our numeracy work focused on time and rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 within a 2, 3 and 4-digit number.
We enjoyed learning about anti-bullying week and what it means to choose respect. We chatted about how we can show respect at home, in school, in the playground, in our community and to our peers and to adults.
Great work everyone!
