This week we have been busy writing creatively about a wizard in a potting shed. We had a whole class discussion to chat about what features we need to include in our writing and how we can group our thoughts and ideas into paragraphs to create fluency in our writing and storytelling. I was very impressed with everyone’s effort and their finished piece.
During numeracy we worked hard to recall the steps of calculating area initially by counting squares then quickly progressing to calculating the length by width which relied heavily on our times tables knowledge. The P4 and P5s all progressed much further with their calculations than we had initially planned which is fantastic.
Our RE focused on Jesus’ friendship with Mary, Martha and Lazarus and the importance of spending quality time with others and being helpful.
During our topic work the children worked in small groups to look at different weather symbols and how they are used to explained different weather conditions. Each group also wrote a short weather forecast script which they will use next week when role playing as weather forecasters.
