P4/5 ~ Weekly News (21.2.25)

21st Feb 2025

This week we have been revising the importance of capital letters in our writing, how conjunctions help extend our sentences and how similes are used to compare one thing to something else.

Our numeracy work focused on symmetry which allowed us to look at different shapes to determine if they were symmetric or asymmetric. We work on developing our speed to calculate subtraction questions quickly in our head and completed some practical work on time, money and times tables when rotating around our numeracy stations.

Art this week focused on drawing our own interpretation of Mr Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The children worked in pairs to share ideas, made suggestions of what to draw and how best to add colour and extra detail. This was a great piece of work from each group and showed how well the children can communicate and work together.

We used the iPads and computers to research Cadbury to find out the history of the brand, the type of chocolate they make and sell and by the end we had learnt lots of interesting facts.

Lots of great work completed by everyone in P4/5, well done!
