We have spent part of this week focusing on activities for the Newry Show including writing our own poems. P4 wrote then typed a poem about ‘On The Farm’ whilst P5s theme was ‘My Old Tractor’. We also completed a handwriting activity and a piece of art which focused on ‘Farm Safety’. The children have worked very hard on all their entries, and should you wish to enter their completed piece the cost is 50p for each activity.
During numeracy we worked on grid reference using maps then progressed to reading coordinates. The children really enjoyed these activities and showed excellent understanding of locating each item using the correct coordinates. We completed some revision on doubles, halves, and times tables to help develop our mental maths skills and speed of recall.
For PDMU we have been learning about behaviour and what is deemed acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. We all have a very good understanding of behaviour and work hard each day demonstrating excellent behaviour in P4/5, well done!
Everyone has been working very hard and should enjoy a relaxing week off next week. School reopens on Monday 5th June.
