Our literacy focused around World Book Day activities that were based on our class novel ‘Space Band’. The children worked with a partner or in small groups to write creative songs similar to the songs we have came across in the novel. We spent time rehearsing our songs then performed them to the class with fantastic effort from everyone performing and listening to others perform. We also looked at the illustrations in the book and the front cover to design a new front cover.
During numeracy we worked on numbers within 1000 for the P4s with P5s progressing to numbers within 10,000 as well as rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 within these numbers. We also used offer sheets to calculate the total cost by adding and multiplying a range of different items and prices.
Our ICT lesson focused on creating a spider diagram to include the different skills and talents we have. This linked into our class novel of building confidence and being able to identify our own skills and talents.
This week we also had Shared Education, PE, trombone lessons and a music workshop.
