Whittling

16th May 2024

Today we did a Forest School activity. We learned that whittling means carving wood and we used whittling tools to scrape the bark off a willow stick. We learned how to do it safely, by making sure our we wore a glove and pointed the tool and stick downwards. It took a lot of strength to scrape off all the bark and it developed our hand-eye co-ordination and fine motor skills.
