This year World Book Day falls on Thursday 6th March and as a school we are eager to continue supporting children to develop a love for reading. Each year we have a variety of activities throughout the week to mark the occasion.
Children have the option to dress up on World Book Day as their favourite book character or alternatively have a non-uniform day.
A fun activity that we are encouraging the children to get involved with is designing their favourite book character using an uncooked potato. Anyone who is taking part in this activity is encouraged to bring their completed potato into school between Monday 3rd – Thursday 6th March as these will be put on display in school.
This is an optional activity to be completed at home.
We had previously hosted our own school bookfair which was a great success! There are some fantastic books left to sell and children can bring money into school from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th March if they would like to buy a new book. Book prices range from 20p to £5 book sets.
